2. Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the past decade we have seen a substantial increase in our scientific understanding of how natural and anthropogenic climate change has influenced all components of the Earth System. Significant increases in tropical cyclones, heavy precipitation, floods and droughts are some of the pressing issues facing society in a changing climate. In order to mitigate climate change impacts and establish proactive measures in an uncertain future, interdisciplinary and innovative solutions should be developed based on scientific findings and advances across multiple disciplines of Earth System Sciences, including Hydroclimatology, Oceanography and Meteorology (HOM).

In this Special Issue, we warmly invite researchers to submit their contributions, focusing on recent scientific findings in HOM. We are looking for submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Land-atmosphere-ocean interactions

  • Prediction and projection techniques in HOM

  • Model calibration and uncertainty in HOM

  • Science and applications of new datasets to advance HOM research

  • Data assimilation techniques and applications in HOM

  • Local to global scale weather/climate observations, modelling, and forecasting

  • Hydroclimatic extremes: trends and mechanisms from observations and simulations across scales

  • Hydrological cycle: from observation to model development and validation

  • Large sample hydrology

  • Groundwater: understand an invisible component of the hydrological cycle

We also encourage authors to share codes and data to promote reproducibility and serve as seeds for future improvements and collaboration.

We look forward to receiving your submissions in this interesting area of specialization.

3. Manuscript Submission Information

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. Manuscripts should be submitted online at http://vjs.ac.vn by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts could be submitted until the deadline of September 30, 2021. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed through a double-blind peer-review process.

Accepted manuscripts will be published as soon as they have been accepted, and will be listed together on the Special issue website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Free of charge for authors is applied for all publications. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.
