Abstract

This article elucidates the perspectives of the 14th National Party Congress on the strategic role of foreign affairs in the new era of development. Accordingly, foreign affairs are identified as a vanguard front in maintaining a peaceful and stable environment and safeguarding national interests. At the same time, foreign affairs serve as an important driving force for promoting socio-economic development and enhancing national competitiveness. They also contribute to strengthening Vietnam’s position, prestige, and soft power in the international arena. Foreign affairs are implemented in close coordination with national defense, security, and domestic policy, thereby forming an early and proactive posture for safeguarding the homeland.
